How IG Metall negotiates and what the metal-industry bargaining rounds delivered — in chronological order from the earliest to the current agreement.
IG Metall negotiates the metal and electrical industry pay in regular bargaining rounds separately per region, with a pilot settlement (usually Baden-Württemberg) setting the pace for the other regions. Each agreement fixes the percentage increases, terms and special payments.

Current bargaining round 2026
DemandIn the Metall und Elektro 2026 round IG Metall demands 5 % more pay. Employees in the lower pay grades are to be better off – not quantified yet. On top come a collective safeguard for the future and for jobs, and a collectively agreed profit share for booming companies.
